EXHIBITIONS

"LAND & LIGHT": Features 4 distinct approaches to landscape by gallery artists Bruce Park, James Shay, James Jared Taylor and Hiro Yokose. The show is on view through April 9th. Bruce Park's pastels depict the wonder of nature with wide-open spaces of land and sky. Subtle changes of color reflect light, and playful clouds help to create overall harmony on the page. James Shay's casein paintings use dynamic forms and a bold color pallette to complement nature's abstract beauty. James Jared Taylor's vibrant atmospheric skies dominant his compositions -- making the land feel almost secondary. Hiro Yokose draws from the romantic style of European landscape painting to create windows into his imagination.

"TRYING TO TOUCH WHAT DISAPPEARS": Paintings and Sculpture by national and international artists Mayme Kratz, Cynthia Fusillo and David deVillier. Poetry unites these artists the written word is repeated thought the artwork like rich color. Cast resin, found natural elements, steel, wood and the written word are just a few materials these artists use to try and capture what disappears. Opening artists' reception with Mayme Kratz Friday June 3 (through July 8th).

"LOOKING EASTWARD": Landscapes by Bruce Park. The power and beauty of the North Carolina mountains with its changeable sky and dramatic light, is told through the soft colors of these pastel landscapes. Opening artist reception with Bruce Park Friday July 15th (through August 12th).
